Kringen
All Members are part of a “kring”, a small group, with which you meet every other week throughout the year to discuss a topic that contributes to your faith development. Each year, enthusiastic kring leaders choose their own theme that can range from a classic Bible study to social issues, from conversations about science or other religions to digging through a theological or philosophical work.
Committees
All Members are part of a committee. The ideal place to gain experience in all kinds of valuable skills. Think about organizing amazing activities, creating promotion and acquisition plans, meetings, networking, collaborating, or maintaining and upgrading our Society; your CV will fill itself!
AcademiCie
Our wonderful association is characterised by several aspects, the most important of which is, of course, the hunger for social, intellectual, and cultural enrichment. We are here to meet this need.
Each year, we organise several evenings and activities through which our members gain knowledge and new insights. The activities ranges from lectures by politicians or academics and debate evenings to cultural tours through the streets of Maastricht.
This beautiful committee is made up of hardworking and motivated members, and we promise that each evening will be one to remember!
AcquisiCie
Money may not buy happiness, but it is certainly necessary to keep Lux ad Mosam running! The AcquisiCie, consisting of Hr. Commers, Mej. Ros, and Hr. Dreuw, seeks sponsors and donors to support the society. We arrange financial support and come up with initiatives to generate additional income. Do you have a good tip or know someone who could help us? Let us know!
MisCie
An integral part of Lux ad Mosam is our Christian identity. Without it, we would be like any other association. But we are not, because alongside our borrels and other fun activities, we are also focused on building our relationship with God. And that is precisely what the MisCie is all about.
As you may have already read, we host a “mensa” with an activity every other Tuesday. Occasionally, the activity is faith-related, think of lectures, services, film screenings followed by discussions, and more. If it has anything to do with the Christian faith and doesn’t fall under the kringen, chances are the MisCie is involved.
We also organise the annual Christmas celebration, coordinate activities during the Week of Prayer, and every now and then host a spontaneous worship session. Because that too is important, and we mustn’t forget it!
FuifCie
As the Fuifcie, we dedicate ourselves to recreational activities all year round. In addition to academic and theological mensa’s, at Lux we also have a few more relaxed ones where we, for example, host a fun pub quiz or get creative. We also celebrate every year during Dies Week in April that Lux ad Mosam has turned a year older, and we do this by organizing a grand gala. Because yes, we certainly know how to throw a party at Lux!😊
PrCie
The website you are currently viewing was created by our committee. However, as the PRCie, we are responsible not only for the website but for all promotion of the association. This includes designing banners, posters, and flyers, as well as managing our social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn) and recruiting new members.
Within the PRCie, we also work with photo and video content that is suitable for use on our social media platforms. The PRCie even has its own camera, which is used to capture all sorts of fun moments within the society.
The PRCie is a friendly, educational, and exciting committee that meets monthly with great enthusiasm and works hard together.
SocCie
The SocCie ensures that our beautiful building is always kept in top condition! Whether it’s maintaining or refurbishing the building, or carrying out minor repairs in the kitchen and house, no task is too much for us.
In addition to various maintenance jobs, the SocCie also makes sure the bar is well-stocked and that there are plenty of snacks to enjoy during our borrels.
